Unit Details: Staffing & Scheduling Scheduling Type: block Patient Ratios Days: 2 Patient Ratios Nights: 2 Patient Ratios Weekends: 2 Float Required: - Call Required: - Weekend Coverage: True Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: based on needs of the unit which currently staffs with a block schedule Pre-Approved Time Off: one Orientation Hours: 12 Facility & Patient Care Details Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics Daily Census: 3-5 Number of Visits Per Day: 3 Number of Rooms: 10 Number of Beds: 10 Additional Unit Information Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary Patient Diagnoses: Level III Obstetric care Labor & Delivery/Antepartum/Postpartum (16 weeks' gestation-6 weeks post-delivery) Intrapartum/Labor: SVD, C/S scheduled and emergent, normal labor, induction of labor, augmentation of labor, TOLAC/VBAC, FTP, Non-reassuring heart rate patterns, shoulder dystocia, Operative vaginal delivery, Magnesium sulfate, insulin drip, HTN protocol Postpartum up to 6 weeks Post-delivery): PP hemorrhage, uterine atony, retained products of conception, PP infections, anemia, etc. Special Procedures/Unit Details: Antepartum approx. 16 weeks' gestation with: PTL, cervical insufficiency, shortened cervix, placenta previa, placental abruption, PPROM, GHTN, preeclampsia/severe preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, CHTN with pregnancy complications, IUGR, multiple gestation, Hyperemesis gravidarum, maternal infections, maternal medical complications (anemia, cardiac disease, asthma, sickle cell) Labor assigned RN will: labor, deliver, recover and transition newborn PP: mother-baby ratio 1:7, BF assist, womens sugical patients ratio 1:7.
