Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced LDRP RN with a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience, NRP certification, and Epic proficiency for a Labor & Delivery position at a short-term acute care teaching hospital in Hillsboro, OR.
Job Details
• LDRP unit within a 167-bed short-term acute care, Level III trauma center and teaching hospital,
• Cares for low to moderate risk laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients as well as newborns,
• Unit includes 2 triage rooms where nurses triage their own patients and perform medical screening exams (MSEs),
• Nurses circulate and recover their own C-sections from an on-unit OR suite and private rooms,
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30),
• Contract length options of 16, 18, or 20 weeks available (13-week minimum),
• Weekend work required,
• Floating within the hospital is required; floating to sister hospitals is not required,
• No on-call requirements,
• Block scheduling is not available,
• Charting via Epic (experience required),
• Scrubs are provided for OR; no printed scrubs permitted,
• Parking is free,
Job Requirements
• Active Oregon (OR) RN license required; pending license accepted if application has been submitted to and received by the licensing board,
• Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required,
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring,
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required,
• Triage experience and newborn transition/baby nurse experience required,
• Must be comfortable initiating NRP for low-to-moderate risk deliveries, including starting CPAP and PPV independently until additional help arrives,
• Ability to perform IV starts, triage, and circulate for C-sections,
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required,
• COVID vaccination proof required; no exemptions,
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (Charge RN references are not acceptable),
Additional Information
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position,
• Local candidates are accepted,
• Former employees of the associated health system who wish to return as travelers must have been gone for at least 6 months,
• Candidates who previously worked at the associated health system must provide a reference from their OHSU supervising manager,
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront and are limited to 1 week maximum,
• Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
