Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery float position at a Magnet, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and AWHONN certification.

Details

• Float position covering Labor & Delivery (L&D), Mother Baby Center (MBC), and OB Special Care Unit (OBSC) based on census needs
• L&D unit features 12 LDRs, 3 ORs, 6 OB triage beds, and 8 OB Special Care beds
• Mother Baby Center consists of 34 postpartum rooms providing care for mothers and newborns; designated Baby Friendly
• Facility serves as a regional referral center for high-risk obstetric care with 100–200 births per month
• Night shift: 7p–7:30a (3x12-hour shifts)
• 3 weekends required per 4-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used; EPIC experience required
• 632-bed short-term acute care facility
• Free parking available with badge access to the parking garage

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required (compact licenses not accepted in MI; pending licenses accepted if active by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
• Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Antepartum experience required
• Experience in a facility with 100–200 births per month required
• Level 1 Trauma setting experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced); AHA certifications preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• AWHONN staffing model is utilized on the L&D unit
• Epic training is completed during orientation
• Pre-start modules are required and vary by specialty
• Former core staff members must wait 12 months before returning and should be verified through HR prior to consideration
• RTO must be submitted at the time of application; a maximum of 5 days RTO is permitted per assignment and will not be approved after the contract is signed
• Local candidates are accepted at no radius restriction
• Hunter green scrubs required
