Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an HCA facility in Frankfort, KY, requiring at least 3 years of L&D experience and the ability to circulate for C-sections.

Details

• Located on the second floor of a main hospital building in a Labor & Delivery unit
• Unit consists of 7 L&D beds, 14 Mother/Baby beds, and a Level 2 NICU/Newborn Nursery
• Patient ratios: L&D 2:1, Mother/Baby 6-8:1, NICU 1-4:1 depending on acuity
• Day shift staffing includes 6-8 RNs, 1 OBT, and 1 unit clerk; night shift includes 5-8 RNs, 1 OBT, and 1 unit clerk
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Procedures performed include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, induction of labor (Cook catheter, Cervidil, oxytocin), IUFD, IV insertion, lab draws, sterile vaginal exams, epidural assistance, and Foley catheter placement
• Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, Corometrics 250 Series Fetal Monitor, Monica monitor, and Ranger fluid warmer
• EMR systems: Meditech Expanse and CPN (Centricity Perinatal)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KY RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (intermediate or advanced) or NCCEFM
• Minimum 3 years of L&D experience required
• Ability to circulate for cesarean sections required
• Hospital setting experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates with 5 or more years of L&D experience will be given priority consideration
• Scrubs are provided by the facility for infant security purposes
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• AHA or ARC certifications accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
