Job Overview

The RN – Labor & Delivery provides patient-centered care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum. This role includes assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation while ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients during labor and delivery
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide care during labor, delivery, and postpartum period
• Monitor patient and newborn condition and respond to changes
• Educate patients and families on care and recovery
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team
• Document all care accurately and timely
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Postpartum experience required
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• BSN preferred

Licensure

• Active Michigan RN License
