Job Opportunity

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Shift Information

• Shift: 7a - 7p, 36 hours/week
• Holiday Rotation: Required to float to nearby facilities
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• On Call Requirements: None

Unit Information

• Bed Size: 45 beds, including 2 Operating Rooms
• Patient Ratios: 1:1-2
• Patient Types: High-risk obstetrics, antepartum, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
• Common Drips Managed: Magnesium, insulin, pitocin
• Deliveries per Month: Approximately 150 at one facility, and 300-350 at another

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality care to patients during labor and delivery, including:

• Monitoring the health and progress of women in labor
• Assisting with C-sections and vaginal deliveries
• Caring for high-risk obstetrics and antepartum patients
• Administering medications as prescribed

Orientation Dates

• June 8
• June 22

Required Qualifications

• Experience in Labor & Delivery is required
• High-risk obstetrics experience is required
• Experience with C-sections and vaginal deliveries is required
• A minimum of one completed travel assignment in the past 12 months is required
• Intermediate or Advanced EFM / AWHONN certificate is required
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically EPIC, is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Post Partum / Mother-Baby care

Licensure and Certification Requirements

• Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certified by AHA or ARC
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certified by AHA
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certified
• AWHONN certificate

Other Information

Travelers will be required to float across various campuses in the specified area.
