Youth Day Center Worker/Driver

HOURS: Shifts available between 8am - 9p, Monday - Friday

2 Full-time shifts and one seasonal shift available immediately.

Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable MVR and current auto insurance

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Youth Day Center Worker/Drivers to supervise and support children and teenagers at our day reporting center. The Youth Day Center Worker/Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the participants, planning and implementing recreational activities, providing transportation, and assisting them in their emotional and social development. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, a valid driver's license and acceptable MVR, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and supervision to foster and probation children and teenagers attending the day center.

• Promote a safe and nurturing environment that fosters positive behavior and personal growth.

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, and educational projects.

• Assistparticipants in their emotional and social development through positive reinforcement and role modeling.

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with foster parents/guardians/probation staff/DHHS, providing regular updates on their child's progress.

• Encourage andfacilitatepeer interaction and cooperative play among participants.

• Address behavioral issues promptly andin accordance withestablished protocols.

• Administer first aid whenrequiredand ensure that safety procedures are followed.

• Transportation using company passenger van.

• Collaborate with other staff members to plan and executespecial events, field trips, and holiday celebrations.

• Maintainaccurateand up-to-date records of attendance, incidents, and participant progress.

• Regularly communicate with supervisorsregardingconcerns, participant issues, or any potential improvements to the program.Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent,bachelors degree in social workor related field preferred.

• 2 years' experience working with children or teenagers, experience in a similar setting is preferred.
• Must be able to pass comprehensive background check and abuse registry check.

• Valid drivers license, acceptable MVR and current car insurance.
• Knowledge of child development and an understanding of the challenges faced by youth.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with participants, foster parents, DHHS/Probation staff and co-workers.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt communication style to various audiences.

• Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

• Ability to recognize and respond to potential safety hazards or emergency situations.

• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with office software applications.

• Valid CPR and First Aid certificates (training can be provided).

• Flexibility to work outside of regular hours, including early mornings and evenings as required.
  

Working Conditions:
The Youth Care/Day Center Worker will primarily work indoors, in a well-ventilated and temperature-controlled environment.The position may require the ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling, and prolonged standing or sitting.The job also involvesdriving duties andoccasional outdoor activities or field trips, subject to weather conditions.
