Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a short-term acute care hospital in California, with charge nurse experience preferred and a valid CA RN license required.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit at a 107-bed short-term acute care facility
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:1–2
- Every other weekend required
- Floating may be required to the Mother/Baby unit within scope of practice
- No on-call requirement
- Patient population includes antepartum, high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, LDRP, and mother/baby cases
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and Advanced AWHONN (Basic AWHONN minimum; Advanced preferred)
- Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) experience required, including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and use of external fetal monitoring
- Experience with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, hemorrhage/shock management, and administration of Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin (oxytocin)
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Two supervisor references from within the last 18 months required
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
- Any license or background hits must be disclosed with a detailed explanation for facility review
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- 13-week contract (approximately)
- Candidates who have been permanent staff must have been separated for a minimum of six months before applying
- RTO of more than 7 days requires facility approval; no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, no more than 10 days total, and no full calendar weeks of RTO accepted
- Interview availability must be confirmed prior to profile submission to the facility
- Local candidates are accepted
