Registered Nurse - Postpartum Care

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

36 or 48 hours per week, day/evening/night shifts or straight nights, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as required by the unit.

Job Description

This position focuses on the care of women and healthy newborns, with an emphasis on education and support of mother-baby couples. The successful candidate will collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, lactation consultants, fellow nurses, and social workers to provide the highest quality care in a culture of teamwork that values integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum women and newborns.
• Educate and support mother-baby couples in their postpartum journey.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient care.
• Monitor and document patients' conditions and responses to treatment.
• Assist in lactation support and education as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse License (NY ONLY)
• Two (2) years of postpartum experience required
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) required
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NPR) required
• Fetal monitoring certification preferred
