Qualifications
- State License Compact licenses are allowed. Willing to obtain is allowed.
- Certifications C-EFM
- Certifications BLS (AHA). Willing to obtain allowed for BLS (AHA).
- Certifications NRP (AHA)
- Certifications STABLE. Willing to obtain allowed for STABLE.
- Specialty Experience 1+ years of experience in Labor & Delivery in last 3 years.
- Skills Assessment LAD skills assessment with 2.7+ score.
- Additional Confirmations I have not requested more than two holidays off during my assignment.
- Additional Confirmations I am aware that blocked scheduling requests are not accommodated by MedStar.
- Additional Confirmations Scrub experience, ability to scrub as backup, float and scrub, call for 2 shifts per 6 weeks, and working every other weekend are required.
- Additional Confirmations Experience with blood product administration, amnioinfusion, antepartum care, anticoagulation, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, APGAR scores, and assisting with high-risk delivery is required.
- Additional Confirmations Proficiency in sterile speculum exams, vaginal delivery, Baby Nurse (Baby Catcher) duties, breastfeeding/lactation support, cervical cerclage, cesarean section, and circulating for C-section is required.
- Additional Confirmations Experience with cord sample collection, couplet care, drawing venous blood, epidural anesthesia, episiotomy/incisional care, Foley catheter insertion/management, and forceps/vacuum extraction is required.
- Additional Confirmations Proficiency in fundus/lochia/perineum care, general anesthesia, hemorrhage/shock management, ID/Security Banding, infant identification, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV conscious sedation is required.
- Additional Confirmations Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy, multiple births, NST, OCT, pain assessment/management, Pitocin, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension is required.
- Additional Confirmations Proficiency in prostaglandins, abnormal fetal heart rate pattern recognition/treatment, recovering C-sections, reflex checks/edema assessment/clonus, and starting/maintaining IVs is required.
- Additional Confirmations Experience with sterile vaginal exams, terbutaline, obstetrical patient triage, tubal ligation, and use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring) is required.
- Additional Confirmations Proficiency in infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring, Internal Fetal Monitoring, IUPC placement/calibration, PCA (IV), vaccine administration, vaginal delivery, and wound assessment/care is required.
- Flu Vaccine (Current Season) Must be for the current flu season.
- Travel Contract Must travel at least 60.0 miles to receive a travel stipend. Local candidates are eligible, but the pay package may adjust the rate by a few dollars per hour, will not contain a travel stipend, and will be entirely taxable.
