A Labor and Delivery Nurse joining this healthcare organization steps into a mission-driven, patient-first culture known for clinical excellence, strong safety practices, and trusted care in the region; as an OB Nurse, expect robust shared governance, evidence-based practice support, modern analytics for outcomes tracking, and innovation-forward leadership that pilots smarter workflows, virtual nursing support, and streamlined EHR tools to help an LD Nurse focus on what matters most-exceptional, family-centered care and measurable results.
Within the Labor and Delivery unit-also known as the maternity center, obstetrics service line, perinatal program, and mother-baby care-the Mother Baby RN will find thoughtfully designed birthing suites, couplet-care spaces, and immediate access to cesarean-capable ORs, along with continuous fetal monitoring and simulation-supported training; anchoring this high-touch environment is an award winning Community Care Hospital culture that invests in clinician growth, while new technology enhances fetal surveillance, team communication, and rapid response so an OB Nurse can deliver safe, personalized, and joyful experiences across low- and high-acuity cases.
Reporting to a Labor and Delivery Nurse Manager and collaborating closely with a Charge RN, physician OB/GYNs, certified nurse-midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, lactation consultants, and case management, the LD Nurse receives strong onboarding, preceptor guidance, and real-time support; day-to-day responsibilities for a Labor and Delivery Nurse include triage and admission, labor support and EFM interpretation, medication administration and induction/augmentation protocols, circulating for cesarean births, immediate postpartum and newborn stabilization, patient education and advocacy, and participation in safety huddles and quality initiatives-all alongside friendly nurses and a diverse, interprofessional team that empowers a Mother Baby RN to do career-best work.
Central California offers an OB Nurse a standout lifestyle with quick getaways to Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon, weekend wine trails and farm-to-table cuisine, a lower cost of living than coastal metros, and housing options from leafy suburban neighborhoods to rural acreage; the region's sunny climate supports year-round hiking, cycling, and riverside recreation, while a Mother Baby RN can enjoy vibrant concerts, farmers markets, cultural festivals, and college-town energy fueled by nearby universities, strong healthcare access, improving transportation corridors, and convenient airports that connect to major hubs-creating a balanced pace of life with community pride, growth-minded local economies, and room to thrive.
