Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• 13-week contract at an acute care hospital located beachside in California
• Labor & Delivery unit with 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk beds, and 3 triage rooms
• Patient population includes high-risk pregnancies, laboring patients, antepartum, and triage cases
• Procedures include fetal heart monitoring, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
• Floating to postpartum (PP) is required when there are insufficient perinatal RNs; couplet care (newborn and maternal) may be expected, and newborn delivery room coverage is a plus
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Scrubs provided for L&D staff

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Required certifications: AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or NCC EFM, ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and FHM
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Active professional license required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission — post-submission RTO requests may be denied
• Block scheduling requests are subject to manager discretion
• Holiday coverage expectations are in line with standard facility scheduling
