Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Orange, CA 92868

Start Date: June 2, 2026

Location: Orange County, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Patient ratio typically 1:1 or 1:2. Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs. Orientation: 72 hours.

• 426-bed acute care Magnet-designated hospital with high-acuity labor and delivery unit
• Very high-risk unit caring for comprehensive pregnancy diagnoses including pre-eclampsia, multiples, fetal anomalies, IUFD, and preterm labor
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Free parking and scrubs provided for Labor and Delivery nurses
• Exposure to advanced procedures including cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, D&C, cerclage, and version
• 91-day assignment duration with guaranteed hours (facility may call off once per pay period)

Requirements:

• Active California RN license (must be in hand prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers cannot be considered
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (NCC EFM accepted in place of Intermediate AWHONN); AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Must be able to circulate for C-sections and perform sterile vaginal exams
• Experience in large hospital settings highly preferred
• Competency in high-risk antepartum care, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and external fetal monitoring
• LA County fire card within the last 30 days required
• Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
