Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D RN)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (6:50 PM – 7:20 AM)
 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide high-quality maternal and newborn care in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in labor and delivery, fetal monitoring, postpartum care, and C-section procedures while working collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and antepartum patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions using external and internal fetal monitoring
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and high-risk deliveries
• Circulate and recover C-section patients
• Perform sterile vaginal exams, IV therapy, medication administration, and patient assessments
• Support postpartum recovery including breastfeeding and newborn care
• Respond to obstetrical emergencies including hemorrhage and hypertensive disorders
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner EMR
• Float to mother/baby unit as required
• Assist with scrub duties as backup when needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience (3 years preferred)
• Current certifications required:
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • STABLE
  • C-EFM (NCC Certification) – Required at time of submission
• Strong fetal monitoring and obstetrical emergency management experience
• Scrub experience required
