ABOUT THE LABOR & DELIVERY DEPARTMENT AT St. Elizabeths Medical Center:

Registered Nurses in Labor and Delivery provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. Our L&D team has a strong quality improvement focus and our nurses are always developing unique solutions for their patients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver exceptional nursing care including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Nursing degree: Diploma ASN or BSN (preferred)
• Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Certification in basic life support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification
• Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Intermediate or Advance Certification
• 2 years experience Labor and Delivery
• Experience with electronic health record preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Fluency in another language a plus
