Position Overview
The Labor & Delivery RN (Per Diem) provides compassionate and skilled nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work in high-stress situations, and a commitment to supporting patients and families through childbirth.
Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, responding promptly to changes.
• Administer medications and assist with pain management.
• Support physicians and midwives during deliveries and procedures.
• Educate and support patients and families regarding labor, delivery, and newborn care.
• Maintain documentation and compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) - required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross) - required.
• NRP certification - required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience - preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond quickly in emergent situations.
