13-Week Assignment

Position Overview

Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-demand travel assignment. This role is ideal for a confident L&D nurse skilled in managing all stages of labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Schedule Options: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks (Potential for extension)
• Location: 2615 Chester Ave., Bakersfield, CA

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed
• Respond to obstetric emergencies with rapid clinical judgment
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and newborn care
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, midwives, and neonatal teams
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Recent specialty experience within the last 3 months
• Active California RN license
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • NRP or NALS (Neonatal Resuscitation / Advanced Life Support)
