• Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,620 – $1,700 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit (16 beds) — maternity nurse / obstetric nurse role
• On-Site Position: Must be available to work on-site in Asheville, NC

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or North Carolina RN license as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience; high-risk L&D experience required
• Strong immediate newborn care skills and perinatal nursing experience
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS (AHA), ALS where applicable, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Circulating experience preferred; experience with cesarean and emergent OB procedures a plus
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR, Phillips electronic fetal monitoring, and Baxter pumps
• Outgoing, friendly, adaptable team player with excellent clinical judgment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care to mothers and newborns in a high-acuity L&D setting
• Assist with and circulate during vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hyst procedures
• Manage immediate newborn care and stabilization; work closely with NICU and MFM teams as needed
• Use electronic fetal monitoring and bedside technology (Phillips EFM, Baxter pumps) and document in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care technicians (PCTs), surgical technologists (CSTs), and other RNs
• Float to related units as needed (MFMU, MOMB, NICU) and maintain flexibility for unit needs
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and the highest level of patient safety and clinical excellence
