Required Qualifications – Labor & Delivery Nurse

• Active RN license (Maryland or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent, high-volume Labor & Delivery experience required
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Strong clinical assessment, maternal-fetal monitoring, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, patient education, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced perinatal environment
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and postpartum/newborn experience preferred

Key Responsibilities – L&D RN / Maternity Nurse

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns across the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum phases
• Perform maternal and fetal monitoring, recognize changes in condition, and escalate care appropriately
• Assist physicians and midwives during labor, deliveries, and urgent obstetric procedures
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed while following safety protocols
• Offer patient and family education and emotional support to promote a positive birth experience
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient charts and electronic medical records
