Registered Nurse - Obstetrics (OB) Travel Contract

Assignment Duration

This is a 12-13 week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts will be assigned as required, and travelers must work every other holiday, similar to full-time staff.

Job Description

The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers, managing labor and delivery processes, and caring for postpartum patients. The unit utilizes a mix of experienced RNs and new graduates to ensure optimal patient care. Your expertise as a travel RN will be crucial in supporting the team, particularly due to the number of new nurse graduates gaining specialized OB experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to women during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum periods.
• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being, implementing appropriate interventions.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe delivery and recovery.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage emergency situations in labor and delivery.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records throughout the care continuum.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Preferred: 3+ years of OB experience; candidates with less may be considered based on travel experience or specialized OB setting experience.
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification.
• State nursing license is required for onboarding.
