Job Summary

Provide independent, high-quality nursing care to acutely ill L&D patients. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in alignment with ANA Scope & Standards, ANA Code of Ethics, and California BRN Nurse Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, document, and interpret patient data (physiological & psychosocial)
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and care teams
• Respond to rapid changes in patient condition; activate emergency protocols when needed
• Perform safe medication administration and follow infection control standards
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, evidence-based practices, and nursing standards
• Participate in quality improvement, governance, and professional development activities
• Provide compassionate, family-centered care in Labor & Delivery setting

Required Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum 3 years L&D nursing experience
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, maternal-fetal care, medications, and clinical equipment

Certifications (Required)

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NRP (Advanced)
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
• AWHONN Maternal Fetal Triage Index (MFTI)
